In the middle of last year, we established a small 2-person team of software developers in Jordan for Ultimus, a company based in KΓΆnigsbrunn, to support their project development. ππ»
Our Team:
Both are employed by our office in Jordan (Rockware Jordan). During the onboarding phase, they spent several weeks in Germany on a business visa, where they met part of the client team and got acquainted with the product they were to develop further. π©πͺβοΈ
For Hashem, it was not his first visit to Germany, but for Areej, it was an entirely new experience. From our Munich office, we supported both of them, visited them on-site with the client, and got a firsthand look. It wasnβt always easy for them β being away from their families and in a rural area β but they persevered and are still working as a remote team for Ultimus in Jordan. π π
Both primarily work from home, which has never caused any issues. Hashem even traveled to Kuwait on behalf of the client to support a project there directly. π
They also briefly supported an Ultimus client in the USA. While we handle billing for Ultimus through our office in Germany (Rockware, taking on the currency risk but charging a handling fee), US companies invoice directly with the Jordanian office β the exchange rate between USD and JOD is fixed, and the USD is a common currency in Jordan. π°
In the end we all agree that we have a very successful remote team for Ultimus.
This success story demonstrates how international collaboration and remote teams can be effectively implemented. ππ
